With a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Policy and a Minor in English from Chapman University, Brittnei Miller is focused on pursuing her many environmental passions and bettering the planet at both local and global levels. With a love of wildlife, sustainability, and a strong interest in earth systems as well as policy, and four years educational experience in the environmental field and various environmentally focused internships with Orange County Public Works in their Watershed Department and the California Wildlife Center as a wildlife rehabilitation intern, Brittnei has experience working with different environmental policies, regulatory guidelines, and the more hands-on side of the environmental world while rehabilitating wildlife. Brittnei even has her rabies vaccination as a testimony to the degree to which she aspires to one day actively participate in wildlife rehabilitation.
In addition, as the author of the Food Sustainability chapter in the first Environmental Sustainability Audit of Chapman University in 2013, Brittnei enjoys creatively approaching environmental concepts while researching, understanding, and analyzing different aspects of what it means to be sustainable. By request of a Chapman professor, Brittnei created an important summary of the United Nations Group of Expert’s reports on the presence of the M23 in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Eastern Region of the Congo for “Falling Whistles”, a non-profit organization. In addition to environmental researching, Brittnei has a passion for environmental writing and hopes to one day further study the impacts of carbon emissions on wildlife and ecosystems and the implications that has towards humans and the rest of the planet.
In the near future, Brittnei hopes to attend graduate school to earn her Masters of Science degree in an area of her choice. Eventually, Brittnei’s goal is to travel to Africa to do more research on the cause and effect relationship between greenhouse gas emissions, ecosystems, and African wildlife. In the mean time, Brittnei also works with the Anaheim Ducks NHL Organization as a Power Player and cheers on her favorite team at every home game. Outside of work, Brittnei loves to travel, hike, spend time with family, and write as much as possible in her journal.
