Bills requiring fashion businesses to share their emissions, water, and waste impacts are gaining traction in four states. California followed New York, Massachusetts, and Washington by introducing legislation to force apparel companies with revenues of $100 million or more to disclose and clean up their environmental footprints.
The Green Climate Fund (GCF), the world’s largest fund helping developing countries deal with the impacts of climate change, has approved $686.8 million in financing. The investment would help draw in other financing partners and ultimately mobilize around $1.5 billion for 11 projects across 42 countries, providing support to 115 million people.
A newly published study has provided one of the most comprehensive analyses to date on the impact of human activity on tropical forest mammals. Findings from the study indicate that human population density exerts a measurable influence on species richness within protected areas.
