In 2021, we began supporting a specialty chemicals company on its EcoVadis disclosure. The company had received a disclosure request from a large customer, and this was our client’s first year completing an EcoVadis assessment. After performing a gap analysis to identify areas for improvement, we worked with the client to reorganize and reshape disparate internal systems, ensure year-to-year trackability of critical documents, and update KPI documentation—including key environmental metrics—to lay a solid foundation for future reporting. The client’s team also entrusted the completion of their full EcoVadis disclosure to us, so we led project management, research, response drafting, and quality assurance in line with the client’s goals and EcoVadis’ methodology. EcoVadis disclosure ultimately helped expand the company’s overall sustainability management program, as its team had to closely analyze actions and policies that were already in place—and take steps to improve them.
